Our Wooden Venetian Blinds - A few facts...
Wooden venetian blinds are a very popular and fashionable window covering at the moment. This is because wood blinds offer a warmth lacking in other forms of blinds, and they are also a good option for controlling the light coming into a room.

Our wooden venetian blinds are available in
3 slat sizes and in 7 different colours, so there is plenty of choice and something that will suit your own décor. Delivery is usually just 3 to 4 working days but we are happy to offer an express service if you are in a hurry. Order before 10am for next working day delivery at a charge of just £15.

Some competitors offer plastic head rails, whereas we prefer to supply aluminum for strength. The headrail will be covered with a valance, and again we offer an advantage as we use plastic clips rather than the more normal Velcro strips. The glue on the Velcro will often weaken over time. It’s not much fun having a wood valance falling on you or breaking one of your treasured ornaments.

Each blind comes with cords to raise and lower the blind, and tilt the slats. Our cords are not joined to offer child safety. There have been unfortunate cases of children hurting themselves by running into the cords and being strangled by the cords. By keeping them separate our blinds are safer.

Each blind comes with fitting instructions and versatile brackets that allow you to fix them wherever you can get the best or easiest fixing position. If the blind is large enough to warrant it we will also supply a support bracket which will help to take some of the weight from the blind.

All of the wood used in the production of our blinds is sourced from sustainable sources, so although we offer excellent value you can buy with the confidence that you are not draining the planets resources.
Wooden Blinds and Warping
It doesn’t matter where you purchase your wooden blinds from, if they are made of wood, there is a chance of the slats warping slightly.

Wood is obviously a natural product and changes in temperature or moisture in the air will make it expand and contract, and this can cause the slats to warp slightly.

We are not trying to put you off buying wood because it is not a huge problem, but in the interest of honesty we would like to make you aware of this in advance of your order. As it is a natural process, no guarantee can cover it and we cannot replace blinds.
If you are unlucky enough to suffer some warpage or you damage the blind, we include 3 spare slats for you to save purchasing a new blind - another reason to buy from us.
How to choose the right wooden venetian blind
Wooden blinds come in different colours and this will be your main deciding factor. However, there are other options to consider and we’d like to offer some guidance on what it means to you and your windows.
The blinds' slat colour
We are happy to send you a free sample so you can match the colour in your own home. Please bear in mind though that we make our blinds out of … well, wood! What that actually means is that you can get a variance in colour and grain, even between slats on the same blind and this is the beauty and appeal of wood.
The blinds' slat size
Wooden venetians come in three slat sizes, 25mm, 35mm and 50mm (about 2 inches wide). The most popular wood slat size is 35mm at the moment. If you are buying for multiple windows then stick to the same slat size throughout the room and preferably house.

It would be normal to use 50mm on a large window (say a patio door) and 50mm also offers a more colonial feel.

25mm slats suit a smaller window, whilst 35mm seems to strike the best balance on most windows.

Something you may need to consider is what is known as the “stack”. When you raise the blind the slats collect at the top of the window all bunched up. The smaller the slat size, the more slats you will need to cover the window, and so the bigger the stack when these are all pulled up. If you have fanlight windows these could be obstructed by the stack, so it may be better to go for 50mm over 25 or 35mm in this case.
